Conscious connection defines and drives
the Moving Edge Workshop.

Scott Lappin

I am a Movement Coach, a veteran of the Professional Ballroom Dance world, and the creator of the Moving Edge Workshop. Simply put, I am a teacher. My passion is conscious movement and helping people reconnect to the inherent wisdom present in their bodies. Movement is revealing. Understand how you move, and you will understand how you present yourself in the world.

A devastating shoulder injury as a teenager ended years of competitive swimming. The quest to heal myself was the beginning of a lifelong focus on the biomechanics of movement.

I was a “mover” from an early age. In grade school, I studied ballet, began competing in swimming and gymnastics and started music lessons. (thanks, Mom and Dad) I carried my love of music and dance through high school and into college, eventually earning a BA in Music.

I went on to discover Modern and Middle Eastern dance forms, aerobics, various Yoga styles, and the Alexander Technique. It was my introduction to Professional Ballroom dance, with the lead and follow, in long term collaboration with partners, moving in defined rhythms and patterns, where I found my “laboratory”, not only for my own physical healing but for the foundation of understanding and skill that would inform and define my life path.

Fast forward four decades …

The ballroom world has provided me with specific skills and experience in observing and guiding the physical interaction of my clients as they collaborate in what I call “the duet of movement.”

Armed with these skills and the desire to affect change in focused groups, the Moving Edge Workshop was born.

The Moving Edge Workshop is gaining more and more interest as corporations and companies are opening to pathways of supporting and nurturing their employees, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

It is my joy to bring the Moving Edge Workshop to all groups wishing to connect, grow and excel.

The profound essence of movement and connectivity is at the heart of the Moving Edge Workshop.
